i dropped my canon ixus zeus in river? how can it be repaired?

i was on a trek and while crossing the river i slipped camera was in my pocket.Immediately on crossing i removed the battery from the camera . kept it in sun for 20 minutes and dried using a blower .i am able to view the old pictures properly.when i click new photos a hazy image appears . the canon service centre is asking too much money with which i can buy another camera
