Accenta G3 battery change?

I found a thread that answered this for me in part, but I have another problem. Had a mains outage and the alarm went off - I guess means a new battery. Have taken the battery out, but cannot stop the alarm going off without disconneting the mains circuit it is on. It won't accept my code or the default code.
