dashboard light not working?

how do i fix dashboard light problem not working, get message on screen saying brake light replacement but brakelights are ok. saab 900 1997

Saab Saab 900 Vehicles, Cars Dashboard Light Not Working

I *think* that the Saab (i own one too) uses the rear light as a brake light when the original bulb blows, to improve safety. So while it might still look like it's working - it's actually the wrong bulb doing the work.
