My engine management light keeps coming on after about 10 mins of driving and the car runs really rough, like its misfiring. I have been told its the camshaft. Is it easy to replace or repair?It is a 98 1.6B petrol model, i recently replace the air intake back to the original as it had a K&N air filter on and was very thirsty but this has not really helped the consumption problem.
iv just changed cam belt and its catching on some thing how do i line it up properly

Thanks, i did get the codes read and he said there was a problem with the air intake so thats when i changed the air filter and he said not to ride the car too hard as the camshaft could go, with easy riding it would last about six months? Ehgine oil is fine and there are no leaks. How much does a camshaft change cost?

if it is a camshaft which is doubtfull no it is not a diy job unless you are very very competent if you havent already done it you will need to get the car on a diagnostic machine and the codes read
