Mend Fiat Punto 1.2 ELX 16V 12 Not Starting

fiat punto 1.2 elx 16v not starting?

It wont start...the dash lights come on but no crank..the 'key code' light is staying on and wont go off? is this why?has it immobolised it?
Help..im no car expert so please give me the idiots guide..thankyou

correct if keycode light is on its immobilised try a spare key if you have one you will need the red master key if you need to get any new keys cut and coded at fiat
