anyone replaced power supply transistor on a veritas R8?
Has anyone here needed to replace a transistor on the PCB for a veritas R8 panel. I had an intermittent fault on charging circuit to battery and eventually managed to come home from work and test it while the fault was still present. Soldered a replacement transistor and all has been OK so far-haven't reconnected the bell box back up yet while I run it for a while without as the old bag next door has put in a noise nuisance complaint, even though it only goes for about 17 minutes, within the legal limit.
Think i have same fault on my sl8 panel. Remote keypad keeps losing power. Replaced battery and all was well for an hour or so, but then battery was drained again. Do you think this sounds like same transistor failiure? Thanks in advance.

alarm been ok now for 6 weeks so presume its ok-worth a bit of investigating if you can be bothered-don't be put off by the "boffins" who tell you just to but a new panel. It helps of course when you are an electrician!!!!

The transistor near to the heat sync top left of PCB. Only 5v output, so replaced, now around 13v as expected, still haven't reconnected bell box but if it goes off when i do, will renew that before panel.
