Mend Parkinson Cowen Oven Glass Cooker

Loose Inner oven glass panel?

Help. Parkinson Cowen Gas Cooker: The inner oven glass panel has come loose. Is there a quick fix to this or must I get new rubber holders. I can't imagine these lasting very long as by their nature they perish in heat. Bad design.

I'm so sorry for not replying sooner. Thank you for taking the trouble to respond. We ended up getting a new oven. Thankfully this one has slide out inner glass and won't be a problem. Thanks again guys.

Hi

Are they rubber retainers or is the glass glued in place and the glue has failed?

You can buy a high temperature silicone glue from http://ovendoorglue.co.uk which is designed for use in ovens.

As it is a silicone glue it remains flexible when heated, and so allows for some expansion.

No quick fix Derek as the glass needs to breathe so to speak.The rubber lets it move slightly with contraction of the heat.If you try and say glue it in the glass will explode.
