Need some repair advice for a 3 year old RCA TV?

Our TV was working fine until my son was doing chores and sprayed the screen with glass cleaner while the TV was on. He received a shock and then the TV went black. This was 24 hours agao and we were hoping maybe it would be able to right itself but when plugged in the power light comes on and the TV makes a clicking noise as though it is trying to work. It then just keeps shutting the power button off and on. This TV weighs a ton - should we bother taking it to a repair shop? Is this something that we could repair ourselves?
