Hotpoint WD420 Washer Dryer?

My washer/dryer "seems to be stuck in a drying program" and gives a rapid flashing lamp on the on/off switch. Ive tried to run that program and every other program and it tries to complete the dry program and then switches off, giving the impresion that the power has been lost. checked inside the washer and the power is there, but i can not turn it on by the on off button (button works). It delibretly not allowing me to switch it on ????

THE DRUM (INNER) IN SOME OF THESE MACHINES HAS NOT BEEN BOLTED ON TO THE SPIDER THUS CAUSING IT TO NOT SPIN OR SOMETIMES SPIN. TRY SPINNIN THE DRUM BY HAD AND SEE IF IT GIVES.
