Mend Technics SU-Z22 Could Wrong Hi Fi

What could be wrong with my technics hi fi amp?

I stored my complete technics hi fi seperates in my shed for a few months and when i came to use it again the amp volume wont function even through the headphone socket although every thing else on the amp works including the volume indicator, the rest of the system is ok.

i had similar problem and believe it or not it was a faulty connection for the speaker wire of all things.I think its some sort of internal safety system that cuts power to the connections if there is a risk of failure.Hope this helps.
