I was able to disassemble the unit. In addition to the ones holding the cup holder, there are 4 screws on the bottom of the unit under the rubber legs. It was a pain to remove those screws since they are not the normal Philips or flat type.
I used a small flat type and after a great deal of effort unscrewed them. Never putting it back. The bottom anyway latches on and since I don't move the unit, except to clean beneath it, it is not a big deal.
However, after disassembling the unit I noticed that there was lots of dirt which I cleaned it well. Then I put back the unit and still had the same problem. Noticed that there was lots of steam coming from the sides.
I believe that this is a gasket issue and I'll replace it, if it is not too expensive.
