Immobiliser peugot 106?

I have the same problem. It is set on red and green. Sometimes it will allow the engine to start, other times it won't, which is not much fun when you have parked outside a supermarket on a double yellow! Because of the fault it does not allow me to enter the code in. How can i get it fixed without having to go back to the manufacturer?
