If you knew the boiler he was talking about Mark you would know what the problem was.It sounds like your pilot isnt warming the t/couple correctly.You turn the knob to pilot press the ignition and then leave it on that position for 30 secs.If it still goes out then there is a problem inside the heater.Can you see the pilot thro the sightglass.Has it gone long and yellow in colour.If so the pilot tube needs cleaning out,but the case will need removal to do this.
