vehicle cuts out?

my renault megane 2.0ltr 52 plate suddenly stops.about 20 minutes later it starts up again.before stopping a dash light comes on.it's 2 heat element lights,the slightly shorter one being above the longer one.they are not identical.they are maybe the fuel regulater valve indicator.can you please help
