Main oven on Zanussi ZUF270 not heating up?

Main oven tripping supply RCD after cleaning oven
Fan working satisfactorily but when turning heat thermostat to more than a 45degree turn supply trips.
model ZDF 290.

just happened just now my zanussi zkc5030s1 has just blown the electrics halfway cooking oven chips its around 18 month old now the bottom oven will not heat up. If anyone has any advise on what they had to do would be great all the other things on the cooker work including the fan and the top oven

I am having exactly same problem with a Zuf240.....tripped the electric and now bottom oven only has a fan. Ours was just over 2 years old....what a pain in the a***!!

I have the same problem with my Zanussi ZUF270. After doing some research the lower oven element is to cost £36.99 plus P+P! Can anyone please tell me where to get it cheaper if possible?

Just fixed ours - takes 10minutes and no special tools.
You can get replacement elements for about £25.
To change it we:
- switched off power to oven at fuse box
- in the oven you will see 4 crosshead screws holding the back panel on. Undo them and move the panel to the side (careful of the wire to the temperature probe)
- The element goes around the fan. Undo the 5 screws holding the element in place and carefully pull forward.
- ease the connectors from the back- use pliers if necessary (do not pull on the wires themselves)
- attach the new element and put all the screws back.
- Switch on the electric
- Cross fingers and switch on oven.
- When it gets warm, make a cake and pat yourself on the back for saving the £75 callout fee from Zanussi!

This looks like a common problem- our bottom oven blew for no apparent reason. Currently waiting a new element....oven is ony 20months old.

Main oven broken. Help please! Zanussi

Turned it on to heat up, returned to find entire unit off and house fuse box tripped. Flicked back on, top oven fine, but no luck with main oven which has no inner light, no outer light, no fan and no heat. Please advise. Thanks.

I am having exactly the same problem as Polly. However I believe that turning the oven on caused our electricity to trip. Now I have a top oven and grill that works and a bottom oven that does not heat up. It is only three months out of warranty and Zanussi are wanting to charge me a £75 call out. As others are having the same problem, like Gary, I do wonder if it may be a maunfacturing fault and wonder whether anyone has complained to Zanussi about a manufacturing fault and how they got on?

Hi polly,did you get your oven mended,its just happened to me,same fault. I was going to order a new oven fan element which seems to retail at about £25 and was curious if you had yours fixed. Also if anyone has changed theirs is it hard to do yourself?

Exactly the same thing happened with my ZUF270 a few months ago. I called a local repair company and they fitted a new element, something that I think is easy to do youself. It took the guy five minutes to do. I think it is just a case of unnscrewing the panel at the back of the oven, then unscrewing the element and fitting the new one.

The problem is that 3 months later, the same problem occurred again. The company returned and replaced the element again, free of charge but yesterday it happened for the 3rd time and only a month since the last element was fitted.

I'm now wondering whether there could be a manufacturing fault with the oven. I'll contact Zanussi but I think that companies are reluctant to admit there's a problem unless they've received lots of similar complaints. The other possibility is that I've managed to find a company that fits dodgy parts. I'll let you know how I get on.
