citroen c3 warning light ?

"Engine main System faulty warning" lights comes on.
What could it be ??

our c3 started last week anti pollution faulty heat warning and radiator running immediate garage change heat sensor ok for a week started again today no idea what next?

I have a 2005 Citroen c3, I am constantly having to fill up the water under the bonnet due to what I believe to be a leak somewhere. I have taken it to a garage twice and they say they find no fault but the water gauge on the dashboard goes right upto red even on a mile drive? Now 3 days ago my engine light has come on and the car bleeps warning me everytime I turn the ignition, does anyone have any ideas? Is it safe to drive? My MOT is due in two weeks so I guess I will find out then but do I wait that long? Thanks in advance for your help

my warning light came on driving at 45mph no change in engine and car drove fine. got home turned engine off for a few minutes then tried it again light still came on what do you think it is?

my engine light has come on and wen i took it to the garage and hooked it up 2 sum sort ov machine nothing came bk other than the oxygen probe sensor has a fault shud b bout 60 quid to fix hope this helps x

i was drivein and i lost power and my warning light came on so i pulled up turned my engine off then started it again i got my power back but light still on

I got the anti-pollution warning after having changed the temp sensor. (had a false engine over heat warning). I change the sensor with the ignition off - I spilled some coolant over the parts below (less than 0,5 DL) during the switch. After the switch, the over heat problem was solved but then the antipollution warning came up instead. I will try the tip to "reset" the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds.. Anyone else who has experienced something similar, any ideas?

In my case I just simply bled the fuel rail & the warning light gone.

My C3 engine warning light came on soon as I started in a very cold morning parked outside my drive overnight. Engine seems to be running no different what so ever, have disconnected the battery during night inside garage & reconnected it to no avail, light is still illum but no problem of starting, idling or running at speed.

hi, i had the same problem, then the real problems started. i drove it with the eml light on and the car started to cough and then was running on three cylinders. my breakdown cover ran out one month before so it cost me quite a bit to get home. the fault turned out to be the coil pack.

the light has come back on now so im waiting to get a code reader to find out what else is wrong. the stange thing is the engine is running better than it ever has?
any ideas? thanks

Ours just came on this morning. It has been parked up for about 4 or 5 days and it was fairly cold this morning and has been very heavy rain for a couple of days. At first it would not rev over 2000 rpm.

I switched off the ignition and waited a few seconds. Restarted and it seems fine now but the light is still on.

I drove my wife to work and back (short journey) without any problems.

I figure it might be the wet weather that has done it. I will try the battery trick later.

light can come on due to engine running lumpy, the light is triggered by the knock sensor on the engine.
If you have removed the injectors for inspection/cleaning when replacing ensure that the O rings on the injectors are a good fit in the engine block.
Even a small gap around the injector O ring will allow in ambient air and upset the vacumn pull from the engine and mess up the injection performance. I have carefully sealed my injectors in with clear silicon sealant and this has made a vast improvement to idle quality and acceleration throttle response

Check the battery first for any problems relating to fuel injection. When the battery ages it has problems keeping the voltage up while the starter motor is running. This in turn can cause a temporary loss of injection on certain cylinders, makes you think there is a blocked injector. If the car runs well after a quick warm up replace the battery.

Mine had the problem and just had a injector replaced on the engine. Cost £192, would have been more than twice this from Citroen garage. Seems to have fixed the problem. ALthough my battery light is now intermmitently coming on!!

Have you added any electical devices, e.g car radio etc..
Disconnect battery for 30 sec and than try...

I have same problem, mine came on after being parked for 16 days in cold weather. I suspect condensation in electrics. OK to drive, I have done about 150 miles. It is either the ignition, fuel injection or anti-pollution system
