if you can get to the tank sender unit & take it out you can see whats in the tank & syphon it out you then need to blow out fuel lines & filters etc if it has a carburetor that has to be cleaned out also ( petrol is extreemley flamable) good luck .

water does not float on fuel,or you would not have oil slicks, tank will have to come off,as motor will keep pickin up water from bottom of tank,as syphoning will not clear all water from tank

I've never done this but......If you look under the bonnet and find the fuel pipe feed from the tank to the injectors you should be able to disconnect it (be careful it may be under pressure) and then attach a length of pipe to it and syphon out the contents of the tank into containers. When you refill with petrol any residual water in the tank should float and so not get pulled through. You will have to crank the engine a while till fuel reaches the plugs and it coughs into life! In fact you may have to take the plugs out and dry them. Once its running take it a drive or run it at a fast idle for five minutes. Good luck
