Potterton Kingfisher MF overheating finding the pump?

thanks Tony, yes we've tried all these place, at the bottom of the casing where there are two scews I opened that and there is some sort of valve type there, the clicking of a pump seems to be around the boiler, as for BG they charged £ 187.92 for a call out, 40 mins where the enigneer just talked through what the problem was and said that a system flush would sort it, while a system flush may provide future efficiency I think it is the theromsotat overheat that costs about £ 16 for the part on the net, as for the ststem flush they are quoting £ 500 plus VAT.

It could be anywhere.Under floorboards,in the loft.Sometimes on the Kingfisher range they put the pump inside the boiler casing.You need to ask either the installer or the previous occupant if you didnt have the boiler fitted.As for a system flush and additive you pays your money and take your chance.Just think British Gas will cream you for something that aint certain to do the trick.If the system is overheating its more than likely the boiler thermostat thats the problem,so i cant see what a flush out is going to achieve.If you are covered under their 3 star scheme then fair enough but if you are having to pay out then be careful as they can charge upwards of £250
