I have a diesel engined 1996, P reg ford mondeo (old shape) ... it has always started without problem, until this week.
I can hear the glow plug relay working, but the engine takes ages to start ... once running it is ok

I've tested that they all have voltage present ... they do.
I've checked at Halfords, there are 2 different size plugs, so I had to remove one & measure it ... I will be buying & renewing all four this week.

Check with a meter to see if you have 12v to the glow plugs when the ignition is first switch on and until you hear the relay click approx 10/20 seconds.If you have power to plugs then remove and check each one with a set of jump leads to see if they glow,you will prob find 1 maybe 2 are at fault i recommend you change all four as they are a serviceable item.
