How do I change the two upper belts on my MTD 11.5 hp B&S?

I've almost dismanteled the machine but can't seem to extricate the two upper belts for replacement. It must be simpler than it looks.

never mind! I've found the answer. Dismantle the whole machine.
Why do they make such complicated set ups for such simple machines??
If you get it done by the agent it costs more than a motor car to fix.
