hello liz. get pro advice as this is a major safety issue not just for you but for others.could be a £1 clip to a steering rack which could cost from £150 to £300 depending on model. you can also buy reconditoned units from reputable dealers if your steering rack is at fault. best of luck.

Heya. You should get it checked by a mechanic as the fault may make the car unsafe. Most garages ( like the one I work at ) will take a quick look and let you know if its safe to use with out a charge. Its hard to say prices as it could be anything from a hose clip to a steering rack but in my eyes you cant put a price on safety. Hope this helps a little.
