Mend Kenmore 110-24812200 Remove Cycle Knob

How to remove cycle knob?

I need to remove the cycle knob. I have dismantled the appliance housing. The knob on the cycle set does not slide off like the other three knobs. There must be a clip or locking device I cannot see. Item #12 and 13 in the product drawing are the parts I want to replace. Help?

I believe with this model the knob must be pushed in and then turn the knob counter clockwise and it will unscrew
