How do I fix the windscreen washers on my '98 bmw 5 series?
Had trouble b4 with pipes coming off etc. Now i get 1 little jet of water from each nozzle per push on the lever and that's it. This, and the noise proves the pump is working but could it be about to give up or is it something else?
The water reservoir is contaminated with algae and it blocks the jets. The only answer is to jack/support front offside and remove wheel. Remove plastic wheel arch enough to gain access to the reservoir and pump motors (situated in front of pedals not bumper). Dismantle and clean out.
Avoid using tap water. Found Halfords ready mixed screen wash less likely to be contaminated.
