poor performing radiators?

Hi
Just moved into a house and the radiators although they work do not get hot enough and room temperature hovers at around 15/16 degrees (bit of a problem at the moment!). Also there are patches on the radiators that are only warm.

We've switched off some of the radiators in parts of the house we don't really use much so only have 5 radiators on the go.

We have a Potterton ep2001 boiler.

Water gets hot enough although does not get steaming.

Does anyone have any advice about simple steps I can go through to help diagnose the problem before having to call someone out?

Thanks

Have already tried to bleed rads but no air in system just get water coming out. Assume that is what you mean. The cooler parts of the rads are nearer the bottom.

I've read people mentioning balancing the rads but not sure how to go about it. Is there a system to use?

Bleed all radiators to begin with and check if you can increase the speed of the circulating pump to make the flow through the system a bit quicker.

Temporarily turn off the domestic hot water to divert all the flow to the heating system. Have one rad on at a time to see how hot you can get it. Turm up the thermostat on the boiler to make the water slightly hotter.

Consider balancing the rads (11 deg C fall on each) to make sure that alll the heat is not being stolen by the first ones in the system.
