Mend Hotpoint WMA 1300 Washing Machine Motor Repair

Hotpoint WMA 1300 - Drum only moves manually?

Hotpoint First Edition WMA 13. About 3.5 - 4 years old. Was making sqeaking noises and grinding for a week or two. Now drum has stopped turning completly. Can be moved manually, resistance seems normal maybe a little harder to move.

When I try a programme it sounds like the motor is trying to spin and there is a slight smell like its being overworked?
