why does my engine stall?

why does my 1993 mazda 626 stall out when the car comes to a stop?

There,s a corrigated plastic hose coming from the air filter box to the inlet manifold system this hose splits then makes the car run erratic,stall,mis-fire all sorts of things take it off and bend it carefully look for splits if it is split get a new one from mazda.
