My Ford KA has developed a knocking noise from under the front footwells, Its louder when going over bumps but even on smooth serface there is a rumbling noise. Ive checked underneath and everything is solid. Any suggestions?
(wishbone knocking)same problem put new wishbone on o/s ford ka started to knock. problem was that the new wishbone is different shape to the old one.front bush housing is catching on the bracket that holds the wishbone. shop change for the correct shape problem solved.car is good as new.

I have replaced the top rubber mounts on the front struts and the knocking is still there.....

I have exactly the same problem, a constant knocking when driving and travelling over the slightest bumps. I replaced both wishbones which includes the bottom ball joints but this has not rectified the problem at all. It does however feel like to me that it is the front struts moving up and down. Can anyone help ?

front knocking is the worn rubber on the front strut located at the top of the spring, less than twenty pounds a pair, but the front springs need to come out to fit.

i have exactly the same problem most noise is from the passanger side i have put a new wishbone on and check everything under there but the knocking noise is still there i have even had it on an mot bay on shaker plates and still no sign of anything please help knocking noise is fustrating me because i dont know what it is

could be lower wishbone bushes -have a good look at the rear bushes which are situated just below front foot wells!
