The machine will stitch a couple of stiches then seizes. The wheel either spins round or stops. The cotton from the bobbin gets caught up on the underside of the fabric. The neddle wants to move but the wheel is stopping it. Is this a tension issue?
My machine will not pick up bobbin thread. We have cleaned and oiled everything suggested. It still won't pick up the bobbin thread. Help!!!!

My needle thread wont pick up the bobbin thread. The tension is at 3 or 4. (tried it at both settings).

I had the same problem with mine, and what it needed was lubrication. I put drops of machine oil on every visible part that rubbed and used the hand crank to work it in. After that, it worked fine.

Hello Rachael,
Definitely sounds like tension adjustment, make sure you thread the machine with the presser foot up and top tension about 5, make sure you can only just pull the thread through the bobbin case with some slight resistence.
