It unscrews from the bottom of the cable where it is attached to the front wheel. Almost like a bicycle pump valve. Little bit of wd40 to encourage it if it's sticking but remember to wipe your wheels clean if you get any over spray!
I also have a dilema. My Gilera Cougar speedo is working but the wires inside the cable keep snapping through. They 'twist' off as I'm riding and snap completely through and then continue to turn so I know it's not the drive on the front wheel that's the issue. I'm on my third now, help!
