Do you mean the stop motion won't tighten on the balance wheel ? if so you need to undo the screw in the stop motion, unscrew the stop motion wheel completely, you will see a three pronged washer, take the washer off and put it in a different position, put the stop motion wheel back on and tighten finger tight and put the screw back and test, you can move the washer upside down if you have to.
