mitsubishi pajero alternator trouble????

could be the bottom bolt on the alternator has broken

my brother took my pajero out and later got a phone call to tell me that the car wasnt starting any way i had it toed to pk auto elt and hes done the altinator i was wondering what the average price to repair. they gave me a quote it was 425 fitted. are they ova charging me ????

Have you considered the fact that the battery may need replacing? If a car battery is allowed to run completely flat, then it is damaged and will never hold a full charge. I would replace the battery, make sure to match the ampere hours rating on it. Halfords for example supply batteries ready charged.
Make sure you have any radio codes handy for when you reconnect the battery.
