radio reception?

i have a jvc bluetooth head unit fitted to my renault laguna sports tourer 2004,the radio reception is terrible, i am thinking of fitting the jvc dab hideaway unit to it will it help, also was going to fit an external glass mounted aerial as i already have a gps aerial in the roof. will this help or what do you suggest.

HI there i would try a external one first,and also check the connections on the back of the radio and sat nav control unit ,as they are linked toghter via alead.
