I have starview 1 clone box and no power light comes on. C an someone please HELP

hi tracy, i happy to hear you got the box working right , you say that the box , has 25x7 vents , on it , so that makes it a (genuine) one " so rember this if you have to reflash that box with new firmware" that you download the right firmware into that box, because their are 3 or 4, different models of starview boxes out there , and you have to put the right firmware into the right box, and try keep away from factory settings , not a good idea going around in there , mick

thanx mick, my box has 25x7 vents, i have to update the box myself as it is always wrong by 1 digit, i only want to factory restore because c5, setanta 1 have gone off and it happened on my sisters box so she just did the factory settings an they came bk on, doin a scan doent work. i can still get into my menu and update the codes an all that its just that i cant move any of my channels. sorry i didnt reply yesterday but i didnt get a chance to get on the pc. thanx

hi tracy , was this box updateing itself or did you have to put in the codes yourself? keep away from factory settings, as far as i can rember the 1570 was just to get into the (main menu) and the default password that you changed from oooo to whatever new code you made up , is for getting in to chlidlock edit ect" can you get in to the " main menu, or any part of it? another number that they used was 1668 twice, but that was only to get into the code box, so you could enter the numbers, just like 1570, this code that you made up is to get into the menu settings , so them other numbers like 1570 /1668 , wont work there, you might need to reflash that box to change it back to oooo default password , and it would mean it would up date itself on auto, but you need to know if the starveiw is , a clone "or genuine" or first genration box , how you can tell this by count the air vents on the top of the box , has it 18x7, 25x7 or 13x7, because to update the box you have to put the right file into it , so you have to know the box you have , ill check back here , tomorrow , mick

thanx mick, my box works fine but wen i try to channel edit or do the factory settings it asks u for a password, wen i enter my password(which i changed from the default) the password doesnt work so the password box keeps reappearing. the default (0000) doesnt work either or 1570 so i cant channel edit or facorty reset my box. can u help plz. much appreciated, thank you
