Hi, I need some help with this problem. I got myself a used sony NF420 cd player. It plays my cds but it makes a lot of loud cracking noise when it first reads the cd. I didnt own any portable cd players before so I am not sure if this is normal, but I have a feeling that this is a sign that the either the motor is dying or it needs some oil for the moving parts.
It's too expensive, can you recommend other ones that I can pickup locally?

yeah you need some lubricating grease for the gears to mesh properly.You can get some from this site.It specialises in PS2 consoles but it has the grease you need. ps2laser.co.uk
