I recently had to have everything reinstalled on my puter, i have a soundblaster card, and reloaded all the drivers in case that was the problem. Headphones will not work either. Nothing is disabled that i can find, and nothing is muted. I have windows xp and a gateway puter. Before I had all the software re-installed the speakers worked fine.
Headphones do not work either, plugged into the front. Also, today I burned a cd, three actually, it went through all the motions, but there was nothing on them when i was finished?

You possibly have the speaker output configured incorrectly, ie set up for 2.1 when you have 5.1 etc.
The output to speakers is normally from the green socket, if you are connected to the black socket you may have problems.
