How can i enter the radio code into my Renault Megane RT 1998?

How can i enter the radio code into my Renault Megane RT 1998?

tried to input the code different ways by using the numbers on the panel where the radio/casette player is and also using the satelite wheel thing by the steering wheel. Non of these worked and the only thing i can do is turn it on and off. how can i enter the code?

i have a megane rte 1998 and the way to enter the code is on the steering wheel you have a stem to control the radio at the back is a clicking wheel that changes the number for the code when your stereo is working this changes your preset channels anyway when you turn it on you will visualize 0000 and the first 1 will be flashing select the number by moving the clicking wheel when on the correct number press the button on the stem you would operate with your right thumb it looks like a line with a square at the end this make the flashing number go to the next number repeat this until you have the code then press the button for three seconds and hey prendo you are a genius cheers curt

I'll give an example of my unit on my Ford. sample code 1234
code shows on switch on with four lines flashing. then static. line one flashes... press station key 1 once in goes 1
Line 2 flashes.... Press station key 2 twice in goes 2
Line 3 flashes.....Press station key 3 three times in goes 3
Line 4 flashes.....Press station key 4 four times in goes 4
what I wasn't doing was setting it to memory by pressing key5
You MAY be doing the same.
Or ask the Dealership or audio shop how you enter the code.
If they do and it works ok if it doesn't then it's probably 'locked' read on.

You may have accidently 'Locked' the system pressing in the code so many times without setting and it's automatically locked which means you have to take it to an auto audio shop or a Renault dealership to have it re-coded...this is not free. and you need the registration document with you and check with them what other ID is required.
