hot water?

in summer hot water o.k. in winter no hot water untill heating has been on a while and then sometimes hot water will go cold after a short while. at a guess it is a thermostat somewhere but where? i am an electrical technician and if i knew where problem was i would swop it for new stat if that were possible. boiler is- thema classic f24e
