Faulty ADP8242?

D/washer fills and washes but won't heat. Once the program fills and starts the wash motor pauses every 2 minutes or so for about a second, during which time the programme light goes out temporarily, then comes back on, beeps faintly twice and wash motor restarts for another couple of minutes add infinitum! No error code displayed and no power at heater terminals(checked with a meter/voltstick). Overheat stat and heater check out OK. If I cancel program and start again, same thing. Any ideas anyone?? I'm stumped!
