My Kenwood Chef A901 started smoking. Problem appears to be two small capacitors on the top of the motor. One is marked 250v-MP FO=7mhz 560-7 LDz the other is marked 250v-MP FO=3.8mhz 560-7 LDz. These are both blacked and one is split. Can anyone suggest alternatives as these are not now available from Kenwood and they are being unhelpful.

Hi Malcolm
The speed control circuit board for that machine is now obsolete, the only option is to upgrade the motor with the new speed control system. This could be fitted by some one with some knowledge. You will need I think 4 or 5 new parts for the conversion and they would cost about £75, if you change the machine that would cost up to £249!!
