light fitting to ceiling?

the green/yellow is earth wire, the blue is negative, you should look for brown,or red wire, whilst holding the green/yellow wire in one hand, you should test the brown,or red wire on your tongue, to see if there is any life in it, if you are still alive by then, there is no power getting through

You say you have three wires on the light fitting and they're, "green / yellow and blue".

My guess is that you have only identified two of the three wires and have failed to tell the colour of the third wire.

You will be safer having a qualified person making this repair.
