How do I fix the LCD Panel on Hotpoint WT965?

I have a Hotpoint Ultima WT965 with a lovely blue lcd panel - trouble is, it keeps blinking like the bulb is going or not making a good contact. Is there an easy way to replace the bulb or do I have to get in "a man that can"?

Disconnect the power before attempting any work. Use of an RCD (plug in power breaker) is recommended.

Possibly a duff connection on one of the board connectors. Power off, remove covers, disconnect circuit board connectors and clean with toothbrush. May help to tighten them with a pair of pliers. Clean off any corrosion or crud, refit and test.
