Mend Megan Engine Noise Revs

noise when starting?

when starting my Megan there is a loud rattle and the engine stops (unless i keep the revs up.) on starting the car again the car starts as normal and runs perfectly. The problem only occurs after the car has been stood over night or for a few hours.
