Why doesnt my dvd drive open when i press the button to open it ?
I Have a travelmate 2700 (acer) and when i press the button to open this disk tray (dvd rom drive) it doesn't open this is a great problem as i cannot view my new dvds and acces the programes i need to , what do i need to do to fix this ?
Apologies for long time in answering this Caliscote, have been away. If this does not give a response then in all probability your drive has a fault. This is not as bad as it seems however as they are quite cheap to replace. If you are not confident in doing this yourself, this should take no more than 30 mins to replace in any computer repair shop.

What if that doesn't work BWT? I have the same problem and I've tried reboot and click my computer and so on. It doesn't work. It doesn't respond at all!

Click start, then my computer, you will now see your dvd drive, click on this with the RIGHT button then in the resulting menu click on eject.
