Hotpoint Aquarius WMA34P?

Would not spin. Replaced brushes on motor, cleaned out bottom filter. Ran empty wash but when programme cycle reached rinse and spin, small flash from control board and machine cut out leaving a drum full of water.

Any suggestions as to what caused the control board to blow?
