Mend Potterton Profile 50E Boiler Heating Thermostat

potterten profile 50e?

My profile 50e, will only come on for about 2 mins and then switch off,this happens in both modes
water and central heating, when the main thermo clicks it fires up,but sometimes I turn the knob and there is no clicking and nothing works.
if I leave it for a while it fires up but then turns off.
I have also tried to locate the overheat thermo but can't find it.any ideas please.

def sounds like a overheat problem to me, do a search for parts arena on google and follow the link to enter site and get yourself a manual for it. they free and the profile is def listed, at least you'll know what safety devices are on it.

could be faulty o/h stat, does your pump run????

It may not be a solution nto your problem but for the investment of £1.50 and a few minutes with a soldering iron you may save yourself ££££ - good luck...
