Mend Citroen Xsara 2.0HDi Light Red Temp

Stop light flashing in citroen Xsara?

when first starting my 2.0hdi w reg xsara the stop light flashes and a red light above the temp gauge flash aswell as beeping this goes on for over a minute sometimes. the garage has told me that it might be a sensor for the water level in the radiator but im not so sure. has anybody had any thing like this before and if its not serious how do i turn the lights and beeping off

I have a similar problem my 2001 Xsara hdi when first started runs boggy and cuts out while the STOP light flashes along with beeping ,I've noticed the temp red light is on and guage goes from 0-90 up and down sometimes,upon starting a 2nd time stays running boggy and after a minute or so lights go out beeping stops and revs and runs smooth and every time starting over the rest of the day stays fine ? so it just seems to be starting it from cold? it's driving me mad as I've just getting car! Any info would be great,cheers

since taking the cap off the brake fluid and replacing and unpluging and plugging the sensor back in the stop light hasn't come back on since done about 400 miles now

Hi there thanks for your help. I have check the fluid level and that is filled up and the brake pads look fine.
do you know if this car has different beeping paterns for different faults. it makes a beep-boop then quiet for a second or two then beep-boop again. (sorry not really sure how to write down the noise it makes best i can do)

could be low brake fluid-check reservoir,may be just pads worn if its low.
