Mend Bernina 302 070 000 Timing Gear Bobbin

Bernina 740 Favorit ?

My Bernina has split a timing gear. The needle shaft and bobbin are completely ouy of line. Agent says it is not made anymore. Machine serial number is 66105433 and model is 302 070 000. I need to buy a new one or must have one machined. Any suggestions as to where I can have it done? Any help is much appreciated.

Approach S.Z. Sewing Machine (+27)(011)825-3407/8. This firm is in Germiston South Africa and sells spares for just about any make of sewing machine. I bought the gear for my machine from them (very reasonable price).

Don't know where you live but there is a fab man that knows everything and can find anything for you conerning bernina sewing machines.Compant name is "Hatfield sewing machines" in the UK England the number is 01707-267854 he is worth the call

Hello Marie,
To get a gear made will cost an absolute fortune, I am not sure when your machine was made but most companies keep spares for up to 10 years, failing that if you contact www.sewingonline.co.uk/instructions you will find that he is always breaking Berninas for spare parts, you may be lucky, this is the only person I know.
