either your heater element is faulty, or more likely the thermistor on the heater box has become too hot and blown. These are one time only and need to be replaced if they 'pop'. They are about ÂŁ5 each. Hotpoint made their rating too close to the operating temperature of the dryer when on high heat. I only use mine on low heat now. Also, if you over fill the dryer it will stop airflow and cause it to overheat.
