Mend Hotpoint RLA56 Refrigerator Temperature Ice

How can I prevent my refrigerator (Hotpoint RLA56) freezing items?

My Hotpoint RLA56 freezes items rather than keeps them cool. It is 2 years old and however the temperature gauge is set, anything with water in it gets frozen in the compartment. There is also ice forming on the back of the compartment which should not be.

We have had this problem for about two months.

Mine did the same thing, then shortly after it stopped cooling completely (although the fridge was running non stop). Advice = buy some extended insurance (about £44 for a year) quick!

Your thermostat is obviously knackered and it just keeps getting colder and colder.
