Candy Activa Smart Washing Machine - Stain Vanish?

I have the Activa Smart machine purchased in June 2007. It has been working fine until now, when I select the Cottons cycle it goes half way through cycle then stops and the stain vanish button flashes, the drum is still full of water and the security feature on the door remains on? Any ideas?? I am yet to see if this is the same for other cycles on the machine. Any help would be apreciated. Many thanks
